Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using dat-recorders.co.uk or purchasing any digital downloads from this site. By using this site or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About this site

dat-recorders.co.uk is an independent specialist reference and e-commerce website providing technical information and downloadable PDF manuals for DAT (Digital Audio Tape) recorder hardware. The site is operated by a private individual based in the United Kingdom.

2. Digital downloads

2.1 What you are purchasing

When you purchase a manual from this site, you are purchasing a single-user, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use a PDF copy of the manual for your personal, non-commercial use. You are not purchasing ownership of the manual or any intellectual property rights contained within it.

2.2 Permitted use

You may:

  • Download the manual up to 3 times within 72 hours of purchase
  • Store a personal copy on your own devices
  • Print a copy for your own personal use
  • Use the manual to service, repair, or operate your own DAT recorder

2.3 Prohibited use

You may not:

  • Share, distribute, sell, or transfer the manual to any third party
  • Upload the manual to any website, file sharing service, or cloud storage accessible to others
  • Use the manual for commercial purposes without prior written permission
  • Remove or alter any copyright notices or watermarks within the manual
  • Reproduce the manual in whole or in part for any purpose other than personal use

2.4 Download limits

Each purchase entitles you to download the manual up to 3 times within 72 hours of purchase. These limits are enforced automatically. If your link expires or you reach the download limit, please contact us at sales@dat-recorders.co.uk and we will re-issue your link after verifying your purchase.

3. Intellectual property

The manuals available on this site are scanned reproductions of original manufacturer documents. Copyright in the original manuals remains with the respective manufacturers. DAT Recorders does not claim ownership of any manufacturer's intellectual property.

The site content — including the recorder catalogue, technical descriptions, specifications, and site design — is the original work of DAT Recorders and may not be reproduced without permission.

If you are a rights holder and have concerns about a specific manual listed on this site, please contact us at sales@dat-recorders.co.uk and we will respond promptly.

4. Payments

All payments are processed securely by PayPal. We accept payment via PayPal account or credit/debit card through PayPal's guest checkout. Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include any applicable VAT.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time. The price displayed at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged.

5. Refund policy

As these are digital downloads, we are generally unable to offer refunds once a manual has been successfully downloaded, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which provide that the right to cancel does not apply to digital content once downloading has begun with the consumer's prior consent.

However, we will offer a full refund or replacement in the following circumstances:

  • The file is corrupted or cannot be opened
  • The manual supplied is clearly not the one described on the site
  • A technical fault on our part prevented you from downloading the file within the 72-hour window

To request a refund, contact us at sales@dat-recorders.co.uk within 14 days of purchase, including your PayPal transaction ID and a description of the problem.

6. Accuracy of information

We make every effort to ensure that the technical specifications, descriptions, and manual listings on this site are accurate. However, the site is maintained by a private individual and errors may occasionally occur. We cannot guarantee that all specifications are complete or error-free, and we accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of information published on this site.

If you notice an error or inaccuracy, please let us know at sales@dat-recorders.co.uk and we will correct it promptly.

7. Availability

We do not guarantee that the site or any particular manual will always be available. We reserve the right to withdraw any manual from sale at any time without notice. If a manual you have purchased becomes unavailable before you have downloaded it, we will offer a full refund.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DAT Recorders shall not be liable for:

  • Any damage to equipment arising from following instructions in a manual purchased from this site
  • Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from use of this site or its content
  • Any loss arising from temporary unavailability of the site or download links

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Third party services

This site uses PayPal for payment processing. Your use of PayPal is subject to PayPal's User Agreement. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of PayPal or any other third party service.

10. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of this site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these terms
